Abstract
Nowadays, a considerable number of nations in the world speak in Kurdish language. This language has some main dialects including Sorani, Kurmanji, Urami-Gorani, and Southern Kurdish. Each of these dialects has some specific subdialects and accents. In this study, the emphasis is on Ilami Kurdish which is one of the subdivisions of Southern Kurdish, and it is used in many areas in Ilam the same as some cities in Iraq. This research, which involves two parts is carried out based on descriptive-analytical(contrastive) method. In the first part, it has been attempted to notify the similarities and differences in verb inflection between Persian (Farsi) and Kurdish) Ilami dialect) languages in order to seek common and different structural points to be studied. The results of this study show that although there are several similarities between these two languages, there are some differences as well. Most of these differences deal with modifiers, tense equivalents, verb conjugation pointing the second, and the third plural forms. In the second part of this study, passive structures are analyzed in both Ilami Kurdish and Persian (Farsi) languages. In order to come to desired data, the researchers have used both Library and Field Methods. For the Field Method, a questionnaire consisting of thirteen sentences was designed, and 12 native speakers, mostly illiterate or semi literate living in Ilam, were asked to articulate the sentences. The results show that unlike Persian (Farsi) language, Ilami Kurdish, as one of Kurdish dialects, has its independent structures in passive sentences.
