Abstract
Moraic theory is one of the theories proposed in autosegmental phonology. In this theory, the length of phonemic units and syllable weight is investigated. The current study is a descriptive-analytical study that investigates and describes phonological processes in the Feili dialect within the framework of Moraic theory. The research data has been collected via dialogue and interview with Kurdish speakers, and after recording it has been transcribed and analyzed.
The results showed that the existing phonetic processes of the Ilami (Feili) dialect are as follows: assimilation, metathesis, weakening processes (such as deletion, softening, centralization, de-intensification), strengthening process (such as the insertion of consonants and vowels, which has increased the number of vowels or the number of syllables in some words) and the process of compensatory lengthening.
In a number of words, several phonological processes have occurred simultaneously, which is called a multiple process, for example, in the word "Anbordast", two processes of assimilation and deletion have occurred at the same time. In general, the result of these processes is not removing the weight of the syllable, but maintaining the weight of the word.
