Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the role of organizational culture on organizational performance with the mediating role of cultural intelligence. The research was done by correlation analysis and covariance-variance matrix analysis. The sample was 405 employees of Ilam University of Medical Sciences who were selected through random sampling. Data gathering tool was a 45-question questionnaire including the Denison Culture Questionnaire (2000), Hersey and Goldsmith performance (1981) and the cultural intelligence of early and Ang (2003) for which the validity and reliability of the research was finally verified and validated due to the researcher's involvement.
Cronbach's alpha was calculated using SPSS software for organizational culture, cultural intelligence and organizational performance respectively 0.729, 0.817 and 0.843, respectively, and the total alpha of the questionnaire was 0.844, which was higher than 0.7, indicating appropriate reliability of the questionnaire. Also, the validity of the questionnaire was measured by divergent validity using the Fornell and Larker method. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling in Smart Pls3 software. The results of the structural model showed that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on organizational performance through cultural intelligence. This hypothesis was confirmed by the Sobel test and the VAF test, and the role of cultural
intelligence as mediator in this regard was significant.
