Investigating the impact use extent of virtual space on family values (The case study: high School teachers in Ilam State)

Abstract

As technology and the mass media have fhund their place among families, it aseems that the important values for those families have challenged some inevitable changes. Consequently, behaviors and discourses of the young generation have been changing, as well. One of these media is Internet that is easily accessible to everyone.
The objective of this study is investigating the impact ues extentof virtualspace on family values. This paper is a descriptive and correlative research. The Statisticalpopulation320teacherhigh School in Ilam State .The sample consisted of 170 high school teachers in Ilam State, which was determined by Kukran formula. An ascertained questionnaire was designed as the survey instrument to collect data and Cronbach’s alpha (87%) was used to measure the reliability and consistency of the questionnaire.
The findings of this study reveal the below points:
1. The family values in thefamilies that spent their time in virtual space are different from other families.
2. The family values in the families that use virtual space are dependent on the length of their use (which may be daily use, weekly use or monthly use).
3. The family values in the families that use virtual space depend on the kind of their use in the virtual world.
