Linguistic Relativity in Kinship Terms of Laki Dialect in Darrehshahr Compared with Standard Persian Language

Abstract

Lakish dialect in DarrehShahr belongs to Kurdish language (Southern Kurdish) and is the common dialect of people who live in DarrehShehr town of Ilam county that is situated in the West part of Iran which is highly changing under the influence of Standard Persian. The present article surveys linguistic relativity with the emphasis on kinship words of the Lakish dialect in DarrehShahr. Firstly, the Lakish dialect in DarrehShahr has been introduced and linguistic relativity being explained thoroughly. Secondly, the literature about the suject of this paper has been reviewed. Thirdly, collected data has been analysed completely. For data collection and information of the present study, field method has been utilized and the interviews being recorded by mp3 format and cassette player. Some of the data have been selected and we asked equivalents in this dialect and after that what the writer needed have been chosen. Then, kinship words in Lakish dialect of DarrehShahr has been compared with those of Persian language. After that, the causes of change in these kinship words of the mentioned dialect have been studied. Finally, after analysing the kinship words which related to a special field of meaning and in fact is the primary subject of this article, the writer has mentioned the conclusions of the present article.
