Abstract

Darrehshahr was one of the most important cities especially in Sassanid period. It is more obvious when we encounter large amounts of descriptions and delineations about Seimareh in earlier Islamic literatures. On the other hand, presence of many historical buildings in Darrehshahr and strategic roads passing away, confirms the importance of Seimareh in Sassanid era. One of these entries beginnings from Shoosh passes Seimareh then reaches to central Zagros. The other one is a thoroughfare which passes from Lorestan to central plateau. Recent explorations near Seimareh dam revealed other historical aspects of this region in Sassanid period. Moving 10 KM from Darrehshahr to Poldokhtar, we get to Bahrâm Choobin Canyon. It is composed of a series of buildings restricted by Kabir Kooh natural hedge rocks and a high and lengthwise rampart. In this study the researchers  present scientific information to prepare a better perception of this canyon. Moreover, they give information about its date of construction, structure and usage.
