The Study of Nostalgia in Gholam Reza Arkuvazi's Divan

Abstract

Nostalgia is human's grief to past abounding with success. It has psychologically entered literature especially comparative literature. Greif, imprison, jail, immigration, being far from hometown and committing sins are affective in this sense. Psychologists believe that nostalgia is a complicated motivation and excitement which result in tendency of returning to hometown which is result of grief. Gholamreza Arkawazi is a very famous poet in the traditional Kurdish literature. He was impressed by being far from his Kurdish hometown and nostalgia, the loss of dear relatives, and being imprisoned, all of which created bitter memories for him in such a way that the poet has lived in grief and nostalgia. This study aims to assign the emotion of nostalgia in Gholamreza Arkawazi, using descriptive-analytical study as well as individual, collective nostalgia, including being far from hometown, the beloved, and the children. The findings of the study show that the poet has expressed them in different figures of speech and sometimes have encapsulated the individual and social grief in different colors.
