Abstract:
Do Masbzan and Mehrjanghzghagh towns (including current Ilam City) turned become Muslim and followed Shi'a religion by enter of Islam. This is the question of this research. This article studies religious evolution of Ilam City region habitants who lived in past era in this region which includes ancient era till now. Geographical, political conditions and the closeness of this region to Iraq which has been the center of Islam creativity in Bani Abas Dynasti have affected the religious evolutions trends. The existence of mountains, pastures, natural havens, sufficient water and natural resources of this region were effective geographical factors in gathering of Bani Omaie and Bani Abbas caliphs. The purpose of this research is to clarify the religion evolution trend of Ilam city population in historical eras and their orientation to Shi'a. The result of this article is that the orientation of people in this region till fourth and fifth centuries was created slowly and the followers of other religions were also been existed in this region but they were minorities. The existence of Imams' sons in Ilam City implies on population orientation in these regions to Sai'e in Islamic era. Since Lorestan's Atabakan period, Shiite orientations are seen between people and rulers of this region in the literatures and from Safavie era and after that the people of these regions were and are Shi'e
