An Overview of the Components of Indigenous Culture of Dareshahr Township and its Functional Capabilities: Emphasis on Activating Local Capacities of the Economy of Culture

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to briefly identify the components of indigenous culture of “Seimareʼs General Region" and its functional capabilities to provide solutions for activating local capacities based on the participatory development approaches.
The study adopted a descriptive-analytical and ethnographic approach to collect and analyzedata. In this approach, the local informants' narratives in the Channel of History and Culture of Dareshahr who know the quality of components of indigenous culture and its functional capabilities have been cited.The data and information obtained demonstrate that the indigenous culture of Seimare has significant functional capabilities in all areas under investigation including happy local songs and chants, incentives for work and production, deep-rooted and connective rituals and traditions, informative and rich proverbs, instructive oral literature, fun local games, and informative historical anecdotes. In various ways, it is capable of reviving and adapting to new requirements and entering the market of cultural products to contribute the economy of culture to flourish.
Contrary to the view which has a humiliating treatment toward the folk culture and regards folklore and its materials and data as superstitions, legends, myths and speeches of the illiterate people, based on the findings of the study it can be concluded that the indigenous culture of Seimare region has high functional capabilities and potential to enter the field of new cultural-artistic businesses and play a role in the new era. It is therefore essential that the government in the formwork of "Activating People's Capacity" strategy provides the grounds
For the opening and growth of the people' capacities and develops the cultural businesses in this regard.
