Abstract

Suicide is a complex phenomenon that depends on a variety of psychological, biological, and sociological factors. In the contemporary era, suicide rates have markedly increased in the society, by increasing the population, expanding the industry and machine life, as well as the prevalence of the various types of mental and emotional problems. In the meantime, Ilam has been identified as one of the high-risk areas for suicide. Studies conducted over the past few decades have shown that Ilam province has the highest suicide rate in different parts of the country; therefore, establishing the suicide prevention centers is one way to reduce the suicide in such areas. These centers provide the long-term clinical, rehabilitation services, and support programs to people affected by disorders. These services are aimed at preventing the re-recurrence of the disorder and their complete recovery. The purpose of the study is to explain the micro-spaces of the suicide prevention center regarding the causes of suicide in Iran. The study is a descriptive-analytical research and based on the documentary method. The data collection instrument is also based on library studies. The results of the study illustrate 10 fields including the fields of treatment, psychotherapy, communication, educational, research, rehabilitation, administrative, service, sport-cultural, and supportive domains.
