Abstract
Human connection with its peripheral world ecology, particularly with plants is a connection based on understanding and awareness.
In the middle of biodiversity plant area has a special significanc for removing human needs along time ago.
In this manner, in recent decades, ethnographic plant field was created with aim to study how people from one culture, one nation, or one specific area use local plants.
The aim of writing this paper is to examine the plant place in indigenous knowledge of people in Ilam province, with an emphasis on sarab kalan region, and to record this indigenous knowledge in treatment of diseases.
The descriptive research in the present case, the deep method, and several key techniques are used.
155 plants were identified in the region that indigenous people were aware of their properties as well as their identification of health.
Since the under discussion community, sarab kalan village in traditional and stable frame has started the transition to the upheaval and instability, keep distance from cultural and domestic elements and forget huge wealth of his indigenous knowledge as well as the  main tendency to flora which is increasing all over the world necessitate these studies.
