Abstract

Feili governors are among the local dynasties in Iran who ruled in the area of Feili Lorestan. The territory of their reign was limited to a small part of the area called Poshtekooh, during the Qajar age and became known as the “Feili governors of the Poshtekooh. One of the ambiguous points about of this local dynasty, is the extent of their local government, especially as by investigate of the writings of recent decades, we find that the relative interest among contemporary scholars has been shaped to equalization of Poshtekooh “with Ilam province. In fact there is a kind of neglecting historical facts. This paper is a document-based research, conducting a review of historical sources, to illustrate a clear picture of the territory of the Feili governors. The study of historical sources of this period indicates that the natural area of Poshtekooh, became the political territory of governors, given the historical political imperatives of Qajar period. Poshtekooh is limited to parts of Ilam province and does not include the whole area of this province; therefore, Ilam province cannot be compared to Poshtekooh. In fact, this kind of thinking originates from the lack of knowledge among contemporary scholars.
